my commercial 45 for the moments song "sexy mama" issued as
stang 5052 states a run time on the label as 3:05 and does
indeed run that length.....if you fade the 3:08 45 version
in the db for 0:07 from 2:58 to 3:05 you'll effectively re-
create the true vinyl 45 version.....

Does anyone know if the promo was stereo/mono? The "The Best Of The
Moments" parent LP timing is 8:50. Since the stereo 45 edit appears on
several CDs, it may be the promo, or it may have been edited for CD.

The Promo was Mono. Remember, most R&B/Soul stations were
AM, and Mono. Sylvia Robinson recorded and mixed, on low
budgets.

I used to own a commercial 45 for this song and as I recall
the 45 version is nothing more than an early fade of the LP
version. But, I could be wrong. Whether the 45 is a fold or
dedicated mono mix I don't know.

The 45 is a dedicated mono mix. Sylvia Robinson's labels
did so until they released commercial stock 45 Stereo
singles.
