I'm pretty sure that Bad Boy Remix is the one that got the airplay but wanted to ask anyone if I remembered it right. Right now I pretty much relegated the LP version to non-existent since I never recalled it getting played. Can anyone confirm?

Rich,
Back in 1997, I was subscribing to Top Hits U.S.A. for my current music. They serviced the Bad Boy Remix - Edit Clean. I remember playing it in a bar I worked in at rthe time and it was possibly played on the local Top 40 station. |

The lead track on the commercial CD 2-track single was the
version John mentions, with the "Upside Down" sample. I seem to recall an earlier promo 12" that did not use the sample, though not sure it was the LP version. The Bad Boy/"Upside Down" mix is the only version I remember hearing on radio. Edited by eric_a |

My US Promo CD Single (EastWest PRCD 9685-2) has the title "Cold Rock A Party" on the actual disc and "Cold Rock A Party (Bad Boy Remix)" on the back and spine and contains the following versions:
1. Main Version - Clean (4:35) 2. Radio Edit - Clean (4:08) 3. Original Album Version - Clean (4:17) There are no stated run times on the disc or inlay. The above timings are my own and may be off by a second or two. According to Discogs, the US commercial CD Single and cassette single (neither of which I have) are the 'radio edit - clean' with a stated time of (4:05). The database does not list any CDs with run times in the neighbourhood of 4:05-4:08, so it would appear that none of these contain the commercial single version. |
