Hi 'aaronk',

Please ignore my post-- my dub from 'Midnight Madness' was MISLABELED and I compared the real version with the 'Greatest Hits' version and there are real differences (and a slight pitch difference, too).

Finally I have obtained the U.S. pressing "Midnight Madness" vinyl LP (MCA/Camel 5456 matrix # side 2"MCA 3688 AZ 1" TIME: actual 4:15/listed 4:16). The lyric at :47 on the vinyl LP is "Do you still think about me". (FYI. The Japan CD "Greatest Hits" appears "Do you still..."lyric at :47 as well as the U.S. "Greatest Hits" CD, probably) The lyric at :46 on the commercial 45 (MCA/Camel MCA-52420) is "I bet you still think about me". However... I'm confused. Because the U.S. LP was NOT the same as the Japan LP. The Japan "Midnight Madness" LP (also released in 1983) has the lyric of "I bet you still think about me" at :47. Perhaps this is the same as the U.S. "Midnight Madness" CD in the Pat's database. I presume there are 2 different pressings of the "Midnight Madness" LP in the U.S. Or, the CD content differs from the LP content. Could you please post any LP/CD contents with the matrix number? Let's assemble information about this song, all the members!

My US CD copy of "Midnight Madness" (MCAD-31160) contains the "I bet you still think about me" lyric at :47. My copy was pressed in the US and purchased sometime in the mid '90s. I would be curious to know if the early US CD, which was actually pressed in Japan has the "Do you still think about me" lyric. Perhaps this is a situation where the original LP version was quicky replaced by the 45 version on the vinyl (and possibly CD). Thanks for pointing this out Abagon!

You're welcome, 995wlol!

Pat
What lyric at :47 does your "Midnight Madness" CD contain? If it contains the "I bet you still think about me" lyric as 995wlol's CD. I think that the "LP version" description for the "Midnight Madness" CD on the database is NOT right. As an example, it should have the comment "CD LP version," and the "Greatest Hits" CD should have the comment "Vinyl LP version" at this time. However, those comments may change when another CD/LP comes up.

I have a question regarding When You Close Your Eyes.
The only version I have in hand is from the MCA hits
sampler clocking in at 4:10. I noticed the promo 45
lists the duration as 4:02 (misprint?) and the LP
version duration is 4:16. Are there any differences
between the promo 45, mca sampler, and the Album Version
(other than a timing difference)?

The actual 45 run time reported by Pat is 4:08.

The vinyl LP version is found on the Greatest Hits CD, runs 4:16, and has a different vocal take than the hit 45. The MCA Hits Sampler has the correct 45 version, and the audio is completely gone by 4:09.
