Hey all.

I always assumed I had the longer version of Springsteen's "Streets of Philadelphia" on the grammy nominees CD, but then saw in the database that the Philadelphia soundtrack had a longer version. I ordered the CD, got it, just popped it in-only to see a track time of 3:54. Is there really a 4:13 version?

Pat always lists the actual time in the database, so there are at least two pressings of the Philadelphia soundtrack that have the longer version. Perhaps newer pressings have, for whatever reason, replaced the album length with the 45 length. I only have the 45 length, so I can't be much more help.

It does exist - I have it on the jukebox-only sampler Spotlight On Hits Pop Vol. 17 from 1994, where it runs 4:12 with outro silence. It's likely from the first pressing of the soundtrack.

Let me know if you'd like me to send it around.

BTW - I also have the 3:48-ish version on Top Hits RH23 from 1994. This was considered the "hit" version.

Could you send the longer version to me?
Live in stereo.

how long is the outro silence? Do you think that accounts for the time difference?

Sent.

The version from Spotlight On Hits Pop Vol. 17 runs 4:11, not counting the outro silence.

The "hit" version (running about 3:44 on my Top Hits USA RH23 disc) is just an early fade of this 4:11 version.
