although not released as a commercial single i have an import cd single for the alanis morissette song "hand in pocket" issued as maverick 9362436042 with the below tracks

1-hand in pocket (clean version) (no listed time; 3:37 actual)
2-head over feet (live) (no listed time; actual 4:08)
3-not the doctor (live)(no listed time; actual 3:57)

notes....tracks 2&3 list them as "live" but they're not they are studio....track #1 edits out the word "sh*t" at the 2:30 mark...

i also have the us promo cd single issued as maverick/reprise pro-cd-7860 with the below tracks

1-clean album version (3:37 listed; 3:37 actual)
2-album version (3:38 listed; 3:37 actual)

again, track #1 edits out the word "sh*t" at the 2:30 mark

Just barely.
This is another one where I created my own "extra clean" edit by lifting a bar out of the intro and using it to fill where I cut out the "sh-t" on the vocal. Kiss 108 in Boston did a similar edit.

Agreed! It was hardly clean. Due to our rather conservative station
management at the time, we ended up not playing it. I realize now I
probably could have made an easy edit of it...

I once heard on a Muzak-type service a great edit that took out the
entire offending line. It ended up like this:

"I'm free but I'm focused
I'm green but I'm wise
I'm hard but I'm friendly, baby

And what it all boils down to..."

It was impressive and sounded a lot better than the chopped S-word.

Did they use the second "...baby" before going into the chorus?
Cheers,

Good question. I'm not sure. I haven't heard this version in about 5
years. All I remember is that the edit sounded very smooth.
