On the Eric "Teen Time, Vol. 2" cd at around the 2:35 mark, the lead singer comes in (after two "Dits" from the background singers) with "Rhythm", but it sounds to me more like "Rh-rhythm" (maybe too much echo??).

The 45 at this point (actually the 2:32 mark on my mono B.T. Puppy #527) has the lead singer punching out a "Rhythm" that is very much less echo-ey (is that a word??). Not sure if it's like this on any other cd's, as this is the only one I have this song on. Not confirmed, but it sounds as if the 45 runs slightly faster, too.

I only own the stereo version on the Sunshine Days comp, but I can hear the anomaly you're referring to at 2:35 mark. It could an issue with the reverb effect, or possibly a slight miscue when double-tracking the lead vocal.

Definitely something different in the mix from the mono version, because even if you fold down the stereo version that weird stuttering effect is still there loud & clear.

I must say that the stereo version of this song is a complete mess. The lead vocal is hard left and way down in the mix...it's completely drowned out by the other elements.

Fortunately, the mono version if available on the "Million Dollar Hits" comp.
