the db says that this song is NOT available on any domestic
cd, but it is available on an import cd titled 'hey, look what i found, vol 3'......i know that some of this series' track are vinyl transfers....does anyone own this cd and could they tell me the quality of the song? |

It doesn't sound all that great, Ed. The dubbing level sounds overdriven and the upper bass is emphasized way too much. There's also a good deal of noise reduction applied to the track, particularly on the tail end of the fadeout, where the high end completely disappears.
On the positive side, it isn't a cracklefest and doesn't appear to have been sourced from a worn disc. Every copy of the Versatile 45 I've ever run across was styrene, so finding one in mint condition might be a real challenge. If your primary expectation is to fill a hole in your collection with a novelty song that you might not play very often, you could certainly do worse than the dub on Hey! Look What I Found v.3 (and it's better than not having the song at all.) |
