My commercial 45, which is stereo and confirmed as Haven 7004, has a listed time of (3:18), but an actual time of (3:21).

the vinyl 45 starts with a low crowd noise for
approximately 0:05......the cd version from the best of vol
2 edits this off...do the 3:24 cd's 'anthology' and 'gold'
contain the proper 45 intro and proper fade?....the 45
label says the song
is from the lp 'give it to the people'....was that a live
album?

No it wasn't, Ed. Bill Medley left Bobby Hatfield to "go solo" in 1968, and he
had some early success. Hatfield then recruited a former member of the
Knickerbockers, Jimmy Walker, to replace Medley, and they soldiered on as
"The Righteous Brothers" for a while, without any real success. By 1974,
Medley's solo career had stalled. My understanding was that the title of their
"comeback album, "Give It To The People", was in response to the fact that
many of their old fans were badly hoping they would reunite. Career-wise,
the timing happened to be right, so Medley did just that. I'm almost positive
that all 3 of their 1974 Top 40 hits were included on that very same LP.
