Although not in the database, this song peaked at #40 in BB, in 1/65. My commercial 45 (confirmed as Constellation 141, is vinyl, with deadwax info of "C64-244") has no listed time, but an actual time of (2:49). FYI, the only CD I own this song on (Varese's "Nothing Can Stop Me: Gene Chandler's Greatest Hits") includes a version of the song that runs (2:53).

Jim:
I have "What Now" on Chandler's Greatest Hits Collectables 5518 CD and the song clocks in at 2:48, which is pretty much in line with your 45 run time. It appears that anyone who's especially interested in tracking down other correct 45 lengths of Chandler's Top 40 hits on CD (such as "Bless Our Love") may want to consider picking up the Collectables disc. Although I haven't done any direct comparisons, it may be possible that the slightly longer song lengths on the Varese Nothing Can Stop Me CD can be faded early to match their respective 45 lengths. |

my commercial 45 is identical to jim's...you'll need to
fade the 2:53 version for 0:09 from 2:40 to 2:49 to effectively re-create the vinyl 45 version.... |
