Does anyone have the actual time for the 45 single version of the Isley Brothers' cover of "Spill The Wine" plus is the 45 an edit of the LP version? In the database every listing is the LP version.

The are at least 2 edits. Time on label is 2:41 but I'll have to double check actual time. I'll provide edit points too if you'd like.

Thanks Willie. Actual time would work. I wonder if we'll ever see the 45 edit on an offical CD release.

Here's the lowdown. I have a mono/stereo promo. No mix differences I can hear but I don't have the best ear for that.

Here are edit points and do the first one first because it changes the time on the second one.

Cut from downbeat of 8 (the guitar figure) at 14:15 to same guitar figure at 27:00. Total 16 beats

Then cut from right on the "Spill" at 2:00:54(after "something crazy") to the "Spill" at 5:31:32

Then fade what you have from 2:30 to 2:39:30 and cut the rest. The last thing you hear is "Come on, come on, come on, come on. Spill the wine"

So run time is actually 2:39

So there is a 23 disc box coming out in August that lists the mono single
version of Spill the Wine and other songs not on CD to date. No word on if
CDs will be released individually also.
