"Old Town Road" has held a grip on #1 for a long while now
and that, most likely, kept "Me" out of the top spot. I think the new Ed Sheeran/Justin Bieber song may have enough early steam to unseat "Old Town Road." It's funny, last month I did a teen event and received a lukewarm, at best, response to Taylor Swift. When I played "Old Town Road" they went crazy. |

"Old Town Road" just has the better numbers, week in and
week out. The streaming numbers have been huge. |

Its the remix that has propelled it week after week. Heard it on the radio here with the Billy Ray Cyrus version. Plus its not even 3 minutes so its a quick play, and radio loves that.
It won't be long before Justin and Ed have the top spot. Whether they sing together or Ed is the composer of the song that combo appears destined for #1 just like Sorry. At least until the next single vaults up the chart to great fanfare! Edited by PopArchivist |
