My commercial 45, which is stereo, has a listed time of (3:10), but an actual time of (3:15).

Are there instances where the channels are reversed on some CD's for this song? May be tough to tell, but which match the 45?

John, I just compared my Colossus stereo 45 with the track on Rhino's Superhits Of The '70s/HAND Vol. 2 and Time Life's Superhits 1970 CDs. Here are the results:

*Colossus 107 45: 1st organ note and 1st drumbeat are in the left channel.

*HAND/Vol. 2 CD: 1st organ note & 1st drumbeat are in the right channel.

*Superhits 1970 CD:1st organ note & 1st drumbeat are in the right channel.

"Merci Merci"? Wasn't that the hit by L'Express d'Ohio? :)

Avec plaisir, mon ami!

It looks like all the CDs that include this track may
have their left/right channels flipped.

This is from an older post on the Steve Hoffman forum,
where I compared the others to Have A Nice Day:

There's a digital clone on Time-Life's Sounds Of The
Seventies Vol. 41 Pop Nuggets Early '70s
(1996; 0.3
dB quieter). One that uses the same analog transfer is
Time-Life's AM Gold Vol. 2 1970 (1990, levels
extremely low). All of the above sound pretty nice, but
the hiss is abruptly ended at the end of the last played
note. The import CDs The Beat Goes On Vol. 7
(Disky, UK, 1997) and Seventies Complete Vol. 1
(5-CD set from EMI Australia, 1997) are from a higher-
generation source and have no low end. Worst by a mile is
PolyTel's Ready To Rock, which sounds like a
cassette taped off an AM radio.

the vinyl 45 is pitched down versus many of the cds in the
db....the cdr version i have runs 3:13 and if you pitch it
to run 3:15 you can effective re-create the vinyl 45
length...

for those who like remixed versions of tunes, check out the 2-CD "She Likes
Weeds - Collected". There's remix of "Ma Belle Amie" on there that sounds
pretty cool, but it contains an extra organ right at the end of the song that is
not present in the original mix

On iTunes, there is a mono version of Ma Belle Aime. In
the list of promo and commercial 45's for 1970, that
Todd and Jim compiled, the 45 is listed as stereo.

Was there a mono 45 too?
