Hey Ed, thanks for the details on your import CD singles! When I put
my list together, I hadn't researched those.

Jim, what is the catalog number of your "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" single?

Mine is DRAW412, and the reason I ask is because although the disc itself lists it as "remix", it plays a shorter album version with no added production.

Or does the fact that there is a "blend" of sections at 2:39 and not a "cold" cut make it eligible to be called "Remix"?

I wanted to know precisely the same thing. :)

Jim's UK single is also DRAW 412. The CD itself says "Remix" for track 1, but the back of the cardboard sleeve states "Edited Version." I compared track 1 to the LP version, and I also hear no mix differences.

That said, there is something odd that occurs at 2:37 that is certainly not on the LP version. During the line "What am I gonna do?" there is a jump in volume on the high frequencies only. On the UK CD single, it only lasts for a split second, but it's very noticeable. Even more strange is that this same jump in high frequencies also happens on the copy found on the Atlantic Year In Review 1987 CD, but it lasts for nearly a full second.

When time permits, I'll pull out the stock 45 copy I have to see if this same audio glitch appears on the 7" single.

I've found an alternate promo CD single for this. It's
a 3" disc, Geffen CDS 9. Listed 4:20 / actual 4:24.

It's marked promo-only, but unclear whether this was
intended for radio or another audience (press, etc.).
Did radio get many 3" promos?
