EYE TO EYE - "Nice Girls"

The actual 45 running time is (4:24), the listed time is "4:25" on the record label.(Warner WBS50050)
The actual LP running time is (5:08), the listed time is "5:11" on the record label.(Self-titled LP "Eye To Eye" Warner BSK3570)

Pat: The lone CD "Wounded Bird 3570 Eye To Eye/Shakespeare Stole My Baby " is indicated (LP length) on the db. However this 45 is the edited version, surely. This 45 version is deleted from 4:12 to 4:44 of the LP track, and this also has a fade out.

I can confirm that my copy of the two-fer Eye To
Eye/Shakespeare Stole My Baby does indeed have the full-
length LP version as stated in the database.   Of
course, someone probably confirmed this 9 years ago!

The 45 and LP are just different lengths - no mix differences, no edits.

If you want to reproduce the 45 fade, add a 48-beat fade from 4:06 to 4:25, downbeat to downbeat, to the two-fer version.
There's a lot of crap on the radio, but there's only one Crap From The Past.

Given the discrepancies between Abagon and Ron's reports, I will throw a THIRD analysis into the mix. I just dubbed the promo 45 with catalog number WBS50050 and deadwax WBS-50050-2CA-9934-S-LW1. It specifically says "Nice Girls (Edit)" on the promo copy. The "(Edit)" designation does not appear on the stock copy.

There IS an edit on the promo 45 that removes 4:06 to 4:38 of the two-fer CD version. The promo 45 also runs about 0.8% faster than the CD version and fades a little bit early (to 4:24, as reported above).

Is this a case where the promo 45 is different from the stock 45? I'll try to dig out my stock copy as soon as possible, unless someone beats me to it.

I pulled my stock copy, and it has the same edit that appears on the promo 45. The deadwax of the stock copy is WBS-50050-2CA-9934-S-WW1.

Unless there is more than one stock copy, there is definitely an edit on the 45 version.

Woops! My mistake, entirely!

I went back and compared my old 45 dub, and Aaron's information is 100% correct. I have a stock copy, so the promo 45 is the same as the commercial 45.

My apologies, and to Aaron - thanks for checking!
