The 45 for the Beautiful Loser by Bob Seger states a
3:14 run time versus the album run time of 3:29. Has anyone edited this down to the single length? Is it just an early face? |

2 1/2 years later, is the 45 version of Beautiful Loser an
early fade or an edit? |

It's an early fade, but not as early as we think. My 45RPM single states 3:14 but runs
3:19.4, silence to silence. My Capitol CD of 'Beautiful Loser', Capitol 91424, doesn't state a time but runs 3:26, silence to silence. So, I guess if you trim the end of the CD 6.6 seconds and fade, you can effectively create the single version. I find there is no difference in speed. -Bill. |

So, I'm not confused, does the fade start at 3:14 and goes
to 3:19? |

The fade starts at 3:05.3. For the last 35 seconds of the song it's a quiet passage, anyway. That brings up
another question, what kind of fade? It's real gradual at first, so to my untrained ears, I think it's referred to as 'Sinusoidal'. -Bill. |

Thank you for the fade description update. Without hearing
a source file it can be tough. But, based on your description, I think I got close. |
