Does anyone know if The Parade's "Sunshine Girl" exists
with the *intro* true stereo? If it does, was it the original stereo promo 45, the vinyl LP, or a later comp? Thanks! Andy |

The intro on the stereo promo 45 is in full
stereo. I never understood why it was mono- ized for cd reissue. It did not exist in stereo other than the promo 45, until the CD era. |

I actually thought an LP came out in the '60s, but further research seems to point to a 2014 Japanese CD cover that was made to look like a '60s LP cover... Does anyone out there have a dub of the stereo promo 45 so I can hear it? I wouldn't be surprised if it sounded better than the stereo transfers on CD that exist - I wouldn't be too surprised if the stereo transfers on CD were actually a dub of the stereo promo 45 with the mono tape intro edited on the beginning so vinyl noise wasn't noticed. Andy, I sent a wav dub of my stereo promo 45 to you via
wetransfer. I made the file about 3 years ago according to the date modified on it. It really doesn't feel like it was that long ago. |

It sounds quite good. I did some searching in my vinyl archives and I found my Rhino vinyl LP Nuggets Volume 3: Pop has the cut with the full stereo intro, albeit with much "interference" which makes it unlistenable compared to your dub! Andy |

I have a copy of Parade The Complete Recordings with the
Stereo and mono versions of "Sunshine Girl" in FLAC. I've listened to both versions, and while there maybe some slight differences in the mono and stereo versions, I did not notice anything that stands out. Maybe my ears are off balance! On this collection both versions run 2:46. Other versions I see run 2:38, so longer fade on those FLAC versions. My 2 cents. |
