The remix of "i see your smile" was definitely the version played on NY
"lite" radio stations. This (superior in my opinion) arrangement, as stated above, is significantly different than the album version (you can tell as early as the first note). The video does use this version but in an edited form. There is a (very nice sounding) full-length version of this remix on a promo cd given to radio stations in1993, meaning this remix was done almost a year after the 'greatest hits' parent album was released. I do remember hearing this New Mix from time to time, but not enough to replace the single version. Not sure if anyone else remembers it or not. Honestly being 30 years ago I haven't heard the song on the radio in forever. |

Favorite two expressions to live by on this board: "You can't download vinyl" and "Not everything is available on CD."

On June 3, a handful of Gloria Estefan singles and EP’s hit US digital
storefronts (incl. iTunes and Qobuz) and streaming services, including one for “I See You Smile”, which contains the “Single Mix” of the title track as well as the “New Mix” of “Always Tomorrow”. While not a physical release, it does seem this is the first time that the latter has been made available commercially. |

Was hoping the single mix of Gloria Estefan's version of
"It's Too Late" would be available now but apparently not. |

What is the single mix for that song, the one with piano replacing the guitar? There's also a shorter edit that I think just edits out the guitar section. It wasn't released as a commercial single in the US, but I remember hearing the Piano Mix on some AC Stations. I think the edit and Piano Mixes are on the promo CD Single. Edited by thecdguy |

I think the single mix was serviced to A/C stations which
is where it probably received the most airplay. |

Underground Dub's 1st post above is so informative. But a question about this:
"OYE MI CANTO (HEAR MY VOICE) [3:46] (Billboard Hot 100 Peak: #48) (Radio Mix) The US single version is a remix by Keith Cohen and can be found on the Playlist CD. (NOTE: While this was also the single version in Japan, other territories were instead issued a Pablo Flores single mix.)" I checked my US promo CD single and it has something labeled "Latin version" (track 3) (3:47) which was remixed by Pablo Flores. Can anyone confirm if this is the same Pablo Flores mix that Undergound Dub refers to the Pablo Flores single mix issued in non-US/Japan territories? |
