My promo CD of "Rich Girl" contains two mixes: Radio Edit #1 (4:06) and Radio Edit #2 (3:46). These are both different lengths than the album version and are not currently noted in the database.

I'm trying to find out for sure, but it APPEARS that the stand-alone digital single for "Rich Girl" may indeed have been Radio Edit #1 that runs longer than the album version.

Because I see one review of the import CD single on Amazon from 2005 that says, "The radio mix is available on a separate version of the single and also on iTunes -- it's longer than the album version and is just plain better."

If that's so, then the "45 version" of the song is longer than the album version.

john was kind enough to send me the version from his TM
studios promo cd and it is clearly a different mix.....the
lp/cd version doesn't have eve doing the rap...in addition
there is heavy piano or organ beats all through the intro
of the 'radio edit' NOT found on the lp/cd version......pat
this info need to be added to the db...

I own the Australian CD single for this song. Track 1 is the album version of "Rich Girl", clocking in at 3:58 (including silence). The other two tracks are live songs. The music video, which uses a slight edit of the U.S. Radio Edit #1 (also known as the Get Rich Mix) is also included as a low-res QuickTime video.

Nothing of real interest, but it proves that the "hit version" varied from country-to-country, as the U.S. promo edits weren't released commercially here in Oz.

Doing a comparison between the LP version and the "Radio Edit #1" (aka Get Rich Mix), the latter is the same mix as the LP version with two main differences. First, the "na na na" intro has been shortened (removing 0:00.6 to 0:10.4). Secondly, Eve's part from 2:22 to 2:41 of the LP version has been copied and inserted at the 10-second mark of Radio Edit #1.

I couldn't quite replicate the edit, because there is one piano note in Radio Edit #1 that is needed to bridge Eve's rap into Gwen's first verse. That note was likely borrowed from the instrumental.

Anyhow, the reason Radio Edit #1 is longer than the album version is due to the out-of-sequence edit that repeats part of Eve's rap.
