FWIW, I never heard the vocal intro version on the radio in 1979, and I was listening to A LOT of radio back then.

It was played at WTRY Albany for a while at the time of the songs peak. While I thought a new copy had come in with a new mix, It was most
likely just an older copy that I found in the music director's office. Since no date stamp was used on the 45s as they came in, it was probably the original issue. Figured that playing it would freshen up the song since it had been in power for so long. Edited by Bill Cahill |
