Jim passed along to me that his Grass Roots "Two Divided by Love" commercial 45 is in mono and has an actual and printed run time of 2:42. This is significant because all database CD appearances of this song to date are in stereo and only run 2:34. Thus, it looks like we have a 45/LP version/length difference here. Can anyone shed further light on this?

Todd, it's a length difference, due to an earlier fade on the LP track. Actual run times:
(2:35) - LP length on the vinyl Move Along (Dunhill 50112) (2:41) - stereo side of the DJ 45 The LP track plays just a hair slower than the stereo DJ 45 side, lagging by .478 second at the beginning of the fade. |

Thanks much, Yah Shure! And it's good to know that the complete 45 length also exists in stereo.

The commercial 45 I have in my possession is missing the opening drum hit. I only hear the tail end of the reverb from that drum hit. By contrast, the snare drum is fully intact on the promo 45--both mono and stereo sides.
Does anyone else own a copy of the stock 45 missing the drum hit? The deadwax on my stock copy is 01523-1. The deadwax on the promo copy is 01523-1B. |

I can't respond to the drum hit as my copy is the DJ 45, but I do note that the 45 is probably a "45 version", because in addition to the longer fade, on the 45 there is an organ (very low) under the section "Loneliness is no one's friend I've been takin' the same kind of ride" heard on both the stereo and mono sides of the DJ 45, and on the "Dunhill ABC Original Masters" CD. It's not on the "Move Along" vinyl album or any of the stereo issues on CD. It's easier to spot on the stereo DJ side than the mono side but it's on both.

My stock copy has the drum hit. Deadwax on it is 01523 with no suffix. |

my commercial 45 issued as dunhill abc 45-D-4289 (AMP 45-
01523) has a listed time of 2:42 and does contain the opening drum tap/hit....the run out groove info is '01523' |
