although not in the db because of it's low billboard peak
chart position of #38 in 1971, my commercial 45 for the
people's choice song "i likes to do it" issued as phila-la
349 states the run time on the label as 2:57 and does
indeed run that length.....if you fade for 0:13 from 2:44
to 2:57 of the 3:12 cd version, you'll effectively re-
create the true vinyl 45 version....

Ed, was the 3:12 in stereo? I assume it was.

Not sure about the CD, but the track from that album on Qobuz is in stereo.

The 45 was mono https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZ7BhCzvh2g

Per the liner notes of that CD the stereo mixes from the original multi-track session tapes were done by Tom Moulton.

The CD contains seven previously unreleased tracks. The first eight tracks are the a and b sides of the groups four early 70s 45 releases on the Phil-L.A. Of Soul label.

Santi,

Would the stereo mixes be true to the original mono 45's?

Looks like in every case Tom Moulton never faded the songs to match the 45 lengths. All eight sides (of the four 45s released) have shorter listed times.
