I was very impressed with the King documentary although I wish they had time for more of the archival footage. That was one film that could easily have been extended by another hour to include more of that rare material.

So many great country acts came from the King studios - Moon Mullican, Cowboy Copas, Hawkshaw Hawkins, Clyde Moody, The Delmore Brothers, Wayne Raney & The Stanley Brothers to name a few. Shame that so few of those original recordings are available on CD. Some that has been re-released has fake stereo/reverb or additional instrumental overdubs. Because the ownership of the master tapes or discs changed hands a time or two I'll wager the that some of them may be lost forever. I believe that they are currently owned by Gusto/Moe Lytle who has done very little to comprehensively reissue them. The import label Westside released a few excellent comps many years ago.
