There is a "Parallel Lines" Deluxe & remastered edition CD that supposedly contains the 7" single version.

I looked at the database and there are dozens of CDs with it, and I of course, have a couple of them, but the version on the remaster is mixed and edited differently. Since I do not have the actual 45, I do not know which is correct. Though the remaster is horribly compressed, the mix itself sounds more like I remember it in 1979 on the radio.

So, does anyone know what it is, what the actual 45 sounds like, are all those CDs with the 45 version correct? Was there more than one version issued on 45?

No, the version that states 45 version on the cd jacket is not the 45 version at all. The version on the Parallel Lines Deluxe edition first appeared on compact disc on Blondie's "Platinum Collection".

The JCI comps do have the 45 version though.

Thank you Pat.

I just wonder where it came from. It sounds like an edit of the so-called LP version that appears on the remaster too.

Isn't the 45 version on the Pure Disco 3 collection?
I'm sure that's what I ripped into our system at one time.
the way it was heard on the radio

If the edit runs 4:09 it may be the original UK 45. See this thread for more info:

Here's the UK 45 playing on YouTube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuOoK3zg8Hw&t=7s

It runs 4:09. There is at least one other, and aside from it running fast, it also
supports that the UK 45 runs 4:09
