Thanks to David Clark, with whom I’ve exchanged many
messages over the years, and Rick Levine, who recently encouraged me to join up, I’m happy to send my greetings and sincere thanks for the support that my YouTube efforts have received from some of the members here. In answer to a couple of questions that may have come up at some point: Label images on my channels are primarily obtained from online sources (most of my own 45s were once stuck with a little ‘Moke’ sticker, unfortunately) and are included for reference, whether or not the accompanying audio was sourced from an actual 45 single. From my YouTube beginnings in 2010, the majority of 1950s-60s postings were audio sourced from conveniently available digital files (largely Usenet) or CD rips, assuming that they were the single versions and also saving me a lot of time and effort. Moving up to the late ‘60s when stereo singles were on the rise and multiple-release versions were becoming more common (and I was getting notified that I had posted some non-single edits or takes), I began both to switch over to direct transfers and add ‘transferred from’ to the written descriptions when appropriate. For the ‘70s and later, ‘released on’ or ‘issued on’ in the description means that the audio was not verified as a direct vinyl transfer. The recent discussion on George Benson’s “The Greatest Love Of All” notwithstanding, if I did not own a particular 45 version--or if mine was not in good condition--I would still include ‘transferred from’ in the post description of a digital file which I had obtained elsewhere, as long as it was specified as having originated as such. Best regards to all! |

Yes indeed! Born in '43 and grew up listening to my dad's 1930s & '40s 78s. I've retained a great affection for the pre-rock era of music along with what came after. Paul, what year did you join Joel at Record Research? I left Milwaukee in 1980. |

Welcome Bob! I remember you well from our WEMP days. Glad you've joined the group. I think you'll be impressed with the depth of knowledge and the lack of "ego" that the guys on this forum display. This group is friendly, civil, extremely knowledgeable, and you're a perfect addition!

Hello, Bob, and welcome to our forum! I've actually been visiting your "78Prof" channel quite often over the past couple of years as I'm now working on expanding my music library to include more hits from the pre-rock-n-roll era. It's so great to have you join us... I think you'll be a wonderful addition and asset here!
And thank you for taking the time to clarify the sources you use for your YouTube audio. This is a big help to us, particularly given how your posted content has come up in various discussions. I hope you'll check in with us regularly and perhaps even consider subscribing to our fantastic Top 40 Music on CD database! |

Welcome to the forum.
I've recently been gifted a family membership to YouTube Music and discovered your playlists shortly thereafter. I've now added every year's "listed by artist name" playlist back to 1960 to my library and really love shuffling through a particular year's selections as background music. It's nice to be able to hear a lot of usually ignored tracks among the bigger hits. Thanks so much for your efforts. |

I started at Record Research on March 23, 1992 (just celebrated my 33rd Anniversary with the company). |
