Came across the import CD of KC & The Sunshine Band Part 3 on Cherry Red Records at a used record store in NY. It includes a version of "I'm You Boogie Man" labeled as single version but the database makes no mention of any difference between the LP and 45 version. Was curious if there is a difference between the two.

Here is the link to the CD on the Cherry Red site.

Thanks.

I bought the 45 and the Part 3 LP here in Miami when they were first released by the TK label (late 1976/early 1977). This single as well as "Shake Your Booty" were identical to the LP version on that album. Of course that LP was a big seller here in South Florida since Harry Wayne Casey was a local that hit the big time.

BTW, back in the '70s, when the group had a new single that was about to be issued, KC himself would deliver copies of the 45 to WHYI (Y-100) in Fort Lauderdale and end up on the morning show introducing the record. He still lives here locally. In the early '90s I worked for a woman who was at one time KC's account representative at the local bank where he opened his account once he and the group were chart toppers. He was making much more than when Henry Stone first hired him to work in the independent label's shipping department.

To Santi (& Fetta):

The 45 & album version of "I'm Your Boogie Man" are not 100% identical; the 45 fades out, the album remains full volume segueing into "Keep It Common Law".

Thanks Andrew and Santi.

That being said, I wonder if there should be some type of designation in the database if there are indeed differences.
