Pat, my copy of "Toga Rock" on DCC DZS029 has this song in mono, yet you have it indicated as stereo.

David - There are two different versions of "Toga Rock" with the same catalog number. One is mastered by Steve Hoffman (and is therefore prized by the audiophile community over at his website), and the other is mastered by someone else. The mastering credit is printed on the booklet, so you can tell which is which just by looking.
Offhand, I can't remember the differences between the two, but it wouldn't surprise me if "Twist And Shout" were mono on one but stereo on the other. |

Correct, according to this quote from the SH discography: "The first release of Toga Rock, Vol.1 was not mastered by Steve. The one with "Twist & Shout" and "I Fought The Law" in STEREO is the one mastered by SH. The remastered disc says "Remastered 2/88 by Steve Hoffman" at the bottom." |

I noticed that the stereo version of "Twist And Shout" has a ton of reverb on the lead guitar, whereas on the mono version this guitar is fairly dry. Does this qualify as a 45/LP difference?

The song would probably qualify for "45/LP mix" comments if the only discernible difference between the two (besides the obvious left-right channel placement) is reverb. At least, this is how I've seen other cases like this get noted in the database.

I agree that there is a significant enough difference between the mono and stereo cd appearances of Twist And Shout to warrant some comment. Before I enter any comment I need to find out version appears on the original stereo vinyl LP Wand 653 titled Twist & Shout. This could be a case where the stereo vinyl LP did not really include a stereo version of Twist And Shout and if it did was it the dreadful reverb drenched version we hear today on compact disc. There are no original stereo copies of this LP for auction or sale on EBAY at the moment so if anyone has the stereo vinyl LP could please report back as to how Twist And Shout sounds on the stereo LP?
