My commercial 45, which is stereo, has a listed time of (3:33), but an actual time of (3:39).

As far as LPs go, The Jackson 5's "Lookin' Through the Windows" first appeared on the Pippin original broadway soundtrack in 1972 and then less than a year later on the group's Skywriter LP. I'd be interested to know if the song's run time on these LPs differ signficantly from the 45 (in other words, by :03 or more, longer or shorter). I ask because CD appearances of the song have run times ranging from 3:31 to 3:43 and I'm wondering if this may be reflective of the 45 and LP differing in length and/or speed.

The song "Lookin' Through The Windows" appeared on the "Lookin' Through The Windows" vinyl LP and the record label states a running time of (3:44) but actually runs (3:39).

Thanks for the update, Pat. I re-checked my research and you're right... "Lookin' Through the Windows" did come from the Jackson 5 LP of the same title, and not off the Pippin soundtrack or the Skywriter LP.

Ed just confirmed for me that his copy of "Lookin' Through The Windows" is stereo on both the A- and B-sides. The only reason I bring this up is because The Complete Motown Singles 12A has "Lookin'" in stereo but the B-side, "Love Song," in mono!

The mono version of "Love Song" is a simple fold-down of the stereo, which seems to be the case with all of the mono J5 and MJ Motown hits from 1972.

Does anyone own a 45 that has "Love Song" in mono (even if "Lookin'" is stereo)? If not, it makes me wonder if the compilers of TCMS were just careless and folded down the stereo version for no reason.

Think you had that confused with "Corner Of The Sky."

I know that we've discussed that in almost all cases, mono versions on Motown songs in 1972 were fold downs, and I just verified
that on "Lookin' Through the Windows". If you line up the mono DJ side with the stereo DJ side in a digital editor, they line up
in speed EXACTLY all the way through. They fade exactly the same way. And there's no audible difference if you compare the two.

Todd, You are thinking of the song "Corner Of The Sky".
