my commercial 45 for the james brown song 'brother rapp
(part 1) & (part 2) issued as king 6310 states the run time on the label as 3:00 and 2:20 but actually the whole song, including the 0:04 of silence at the break, runs 5:26....the cd version that todd was kind enough to send me only has 0:02 worth of dead air between the two parts....this 45 info s/b added to the db... |

I'd just like to supplement Ed's initial report on "Brother Rapp".
This is one of those instances where James Brown has put (Part 1) and (Part 2) on the same side of the 45, with a few seconds of silence in between. I have timed it several different ways (the two parts individually, just the silence in between, and then letting the entire 45 just play, from start to finish.) Because Ed is normal, and I clearly need professional help, I went way over the top here, so I'm really confident in these numbers. -James Brown--"Brother Rapp" (Part 1) & (Part 2) (King 6310) (stereo) (deadwax info "SK 13322-23" - the second "3" was originally a "1", which was written over.) -(Part 1): listed time (3:00); actual time (3:01) -silent grooves between (Part 1) and (Part 2) - :05 seconds -(Part 2); listed time (2:20); actual time (2:18) -Total length of 45, from start to finish: (3:01) + (:05) + (2:18) = (5:24). |
