Does anyone know the origin of the 3:20 version of Samantha Fox's "Naughty Girls (Need Love Too)" that has repeatedly surfaced on CD? The database states this is neither the 45, LP, or 12" version, but my gut tells me this 3:20 version might have been issued on the European 45. Does anyone have a European 45 copy of "Naughty Girls" who can confirm or deny my suspicion?

Mine is also just a hunch, but when I first bought her Greatest Hits CD several years ago, I noticed a couple of tracks where shorter than the 45 versions I knew, so I suspected they may have been edited for the compilation. I remember specifically "Naughty Girls" and "I Wanna Have Some Fun".

That "Naughty Girls" 3:20 version is an edit of the 4:20 single edit on the US promo CD (1102-JDJ). This version was remixed by Full Force and Tony Maserati.

Track 2 on the promo CD is the UK Mix (4:10), mixed by Full Force and Bryan "Chuck" New. This is an edit of the album version on my German copy of the "Samantha Fox" CD, which runs for 5:10.

A similar case with "I Wanna Have Some Fun" which runs for 3:56 on the Greatest Hits, shorter than both UK and US single versions that jimct lists from his promo 45.

I noted something similar with some tracks on Paula Abdul's "Greatest Hits": the first few seconds of the 45 versions of "It's Just The Way That You Love Me" and "Vibeology" were chopped off. Not noticeable on the first since it was an acapella section, but rather obvious on the second track.

But again, just a feeling.

Thought I'd revive this post to see if any of the board's newer members might be able to shed further light on this subject. Again, I suspect the 3:20 version of Samantha Fox's "Naughty Girls (Need Love Too)" is either a DJ edit or a U.K. 45 version. Can anyone confirm or deny with certainty?
