The Radio Edit has been released commercially and it's available in a few releases. The Diamonds compilation is widely available and fairly inexpensive. https://www.discogs.com/New-Kids-On-The-Block-Step-By-Step/r elease/10782896 https://www.discogs.com/New-Kids-On-The-Block-The-Diamonds/r elease/4215970 |

Thanks for the tip, Loveland. Because it's a Japanese
compilation, Pat wouldn't include it in his Top 40 music On CD database. |

I'm guessing that was some sort of rule that goes back decades? IMHO, it's pretty safe to say that for the past decade music has become global (possibly longer). I think that this rule to only include U.S. releases should go away. There isn't any justifiable reason to exclude releases outside the U.S. anymore. Don't you guys agree? |

I've been a part of and contributed and learned from this
forum since 2007. In 12 years, the rules here are still the same, only U.S. compilations and albums. Pat Downey, the owner of the site, can best describe his reasons and I believe has in countless threads throughout the site. |

The reason Pat does not include imports is very simple: to keep the database scope manageable. He has a physical copy of 99.99% of all CDs included in the database. To include imports would make it impossible for him to have a CD copy of everything. Pat is the only guy who maintains the information in the database, unlike giant user-generated databases like Discogs. It's quite a feat, if you ask me.

Because Pat has physical copies of just about all the CDs in the database and has verified all the info for each CD, we are assured that the info in the database is accurate.
This is huge advantage over sites like Discogs, which can have inaccuracies in track timing or other info. It's a big deal. |

There's a lot of crap on the radio, but there's only one Crap From The Past.
