Doug, the 30th anniversary release with the louder taps is
the correct mix.

Doug,

I found label scans online of the 1981 Jet 45rpm for
Crazy Train. Both the promo 45 and the commercial 45 had
listed times of 4:50.

Thx, John. I did see some label scans on Discogs that also show listed times of (4:50) (which I assume are the same ones you saw). So the question is if they
actually do run (4:50).

edit runs 4:15... now, saying that, like John & Doug I
could not find any promos or singles FOR THE USA that
listed a length of less than 4:50.

Was "Crazy Train" edited for the UK and other locations
but not the United States?
