The drums are louder and the mono mix has no reverb. It is clean and clear, and punchy, as in more dynamic.

Maybe your mono 45 is different than the one I'm listening to. This copy certainly does have reverb. Does anyone else have a mono 45 version with no reverb?

I have the 2:43 mono promo 45 and the mix is dry. It's the exact same record we played on KRIZ in Phoenix in 1968.

Are you saying you near no reverb on the line "and I don't know what to say?" I have a dub of the 2:43 mono promo, crackles and all, and it is not dry.

Yes there's audible reverb there, for the single is not completely dry. But there's less reverb than on other versions, as far as I remember.

We're talking about an overall reverb, as on the stereo version. Yes, there is reverb on the line "And I don't konw what to say.", but the overall mix is drier, and, as I stated before, the drums are louder and clearer.
I have the radio promo that Bob Lovely has, and I have the original commercial mono Capitol 45. |

Yes, that's what I'm saying. The mono single version does have some reverb, and it's the same reverb found on the electronic stereo version on CD. The reverb on this mix is totally different than the reverb on the true stereo version. You CAN fold down the "E" version to the mono version. I've done it. It works.

But, i've done it too, and the level of the drums is wrong.

There is some echo on the DJ 45 edit but, there is not much. The stereo mix is much wetter. Remember folks, all Capitol multi-tracks are "dry". Echo is added during mixing on Capitol masters. The Mono mix is a dedicated mix...
