LP running time is listed as 4:46, but the 45 lists it
as 4:10. I tried fading it but that would have it fading
during the spoken breakdown, so there have to be edits.
Anyone know for sure?

I have the "Forever Pop Vol. 3" compilation, which Pat notes as having the 45 version. I'm not familiar with the LP version, but the YouTube/VEVO video runs 4:43, so assuming that is the LP version, here are the differences:

-The 45 version cuts the first few seconds and halves the instrumental intro
-On the 45 version, the second and third choruses (i.e., after the first and second verses) are each cut in half
-The fade on the 45 version extends a few seconds beyond the fade point on the video, but this may not reflect the actual CD version.

The verses, including the spoken breakdown, remain intact.

Hope this helps. Happy to compare more precisely if someone can point me in the right direction of the proper LP version.

The database states 45 version and LP version not "mix". Perhaps an old old edition in the printed book format stated "mix".
