Here is one that has eluded me for some time. I've seen single edits of this
and it's as long as the album track, but there's suppose to be a promo
version that's about 4 minutes 25 secs. Does anybody have this to confirm
its existance? I'd love to recreate the DJ edit on this one.

Bill: The short mono side of the promo single has a listed time of (4:25), but an actual time of (4:28). A long fade is present, starting at (3:58).

My promo single is mono/stereo listed 6:03, which I'm pretty sure is the same length as the commercial 45. This is the only version I recall hearing. Indeed, I never knew there was a short version until someone sent me an mp3 a couple years ago.

This edit was also discussed on the latter part of http://www.top40musiconcd.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=3525&PN=1&TPN=1 - this thread.

There was a promo 45 with 6:03 both sides. And the other one with the the edit in mono on one side.

It took me a years to find the short/long copy but on the label it's 4:25 mono/6:03 stereo. I've never seen the 4:25 side(4:28 actual)in stereo.

Of course, after FINALLY finding the short/long promo I then kept running into it, so now I have four!

The short mono promo, in addition to being edited, is a fold-down from the stereo. It was tricky to get it right, however, because some CD copies are quite murky, and nearly all of them have the left and right channels offset by 3 or 4 samples, which makes things disappear when folded. After correcting the channel offset, things summed together properly.
