the db states that all version contain the lp version indicating the 45 is a different version.....i have the cassingle issued as def american 19403 and it contains the "album version" and is identical to the full cd/lp version from "shake your money maker".....do you have the promo 45 as your point of reference regarding the 45 version or are there 2 different formats with 2 different versions???

Ed - the 45 also featured the lp version. The cd promo was a 4:05 edit (info garnered from TM Century)

Does anyone know how to cut the lp version to make the promo version?

I have an official DJ CD single copy of The Black Crowes' "She Talks to Angels" on Def American PRO-CD-4687. The track listing and actual run times are as follows:

1) Edit - 4:04
2) Live Video Edit - 4:49
3) Live Video Version - 6:08

I recall seeing the video of this song that featured the Live Video Version, but does anyone remember actually hearing either the full or edited live version played on Top 40 radio? If so, then perhaps these tracks should be noted in the database.

Here are instructions for creating the 4:04 "Edit" from the LP version.

I have the edit on a TM Century CD.

I have the LP version on the remastered Shake Your Money Maker, which has dreadful sound - seek out the original release, which sounds much better. My timings are from the remaster, so your timings may differ a bit.

Keep 0:00.0-0:15.2 of the LP version.
Edit on the last note of the guitar strums.
Remove the 24 beats from 0:15.2-0:33.2.
Keep 0:33.2-1:00.5 of the LP version. This passage begins with the last guitar strum before the vocals start. The end of the passage follows after the drums kick in - there's a kick drum, then a snare/crash cymbal, then a kick drum, then a downbeat. Edit on that downbeat.
Remove the 16 beats from 1:00.5-1:12.5.
Keep the 16 beats from 1:12.5-1:24.5.
Edit on downbeat.
Remove the 72 beats from 1:24.5-2:18.5.
Keep 2:18.5-5:29.4 (end) of the LP version. For reference, this passage should start with a crash cymbal.

Your mixdown should run about 4:05, with edits at 0:15.2, 0:42.5 and 0:54.5.

I really can't emphasize enough how bad the remaster of this album sounds - search out the original release, which sounded just fine and didn't need remastering to begin with.
