I recently picked up copies of BMG club releases in lieu of a few "official" releases that are now out-of-print (Supremes, Mercury Girl Groups, Moody Blues, etc.). Can I assume that BMG club releases are exactly the same as the official releases put out by the record companies (same lengths, mixes, mono/stereo versions, 45/LP versions, etc.)? In other words, is it safe to say that the only difference between the dics is that one says "BMG" on it? I hope this is the case.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

As far as I know, there is no other difference.

maciav:

My experience with BMG record club CD releases is that they are identical in virtually every way to their retail sold counterparts. The only difference is that the BMG pressings replace the UPC bar code with the "Mfd. for BMG Direct" info.

Thanks Todd! That is what I was hoping to hear.
