Given the amount of versions floating around out there, I'm surprised there wasn't more info about Heart Of Stone on the board.
The database lists the following versions (with actual running times)
Remix/fade (3:50)
CHR version (3:50)
Heartbeat version faded (4:01)
Remix (4:09)
LP version (4:15)
Full heartbeat version (4:16)
I have a copy of the UK CD single (with the heartbeat intro) which states 'remix' and runs 4:10. I also have a copy of the remix with the heartbeat intro on a compilation CD which fades early to 4:01. I don't hear any other differences. Can I safely assume this is the 'Heartbeat version faded'?
As for the 'Full heartbeat version', is this the same as the above two versions, with the only difference being that it runs a few seconds longer?
So, what is the 'Remix/fade' version? Is this the same mix with an even earlier fade? And if so, can anyone provide fade points, please?
Lastly, the 'CHR version'. Ed mentions above that his cassingle matches the CHR version from the promo CD. The database notes indicate that the CHR version was just an early fade of the LP, and not a remix at all. Can anyone provide me with fade info for this one too, please?
OK, I think I'm done with questions for this one! Thanks in advance.

Bumping this up for anyone who owns the promo single(s) and can answer Bwci Bo's question from 2017.
I am also curious if the "Remix/Fade" is just an earlier fade of the "Heartbeat version faded" or if it includes unique audio?

The Heartbeat version fade which is on a promo at 3:50 was the only version I heard on radio back then, not the CHR version. It seems like on all of Cher's comps she overlooks the heartbeat version. If anyone needs the link for the 3:50 promo on discogs let me know that contains the 3:50 fade. I also have a 3:53 that I believe to be the CHR version on CD.

OK, my copy of PRO-CD-4005 is in a different location, but I'll try to retrieve it later today. For now, here's what I have in front of me. The actual times are posted above, so I won't re-time my promos.
PRO-CD-3822
1. CHR Version
PRO-CD-3989
1. Remix/Fade
2. Remix
3. CHR Version
4. LP Version

I have PRO-CD-4005 in front of me now:
1. Heartbeat Version/Faded
2. Full Heartbeat Version
Again, the running times are all listed above.
The CHR Version is an early fade of the LP version (fading from 3:36 to 3:50).
The Remix and Heartbeat Version are not the same mix, but the Heartbeat Version uses the Remix as the basis (and both are pitched up compared to the LP version). The best way I can describe it is that someone remixed the Remix by adding some additional elements on top. For instance, the Remix starts with the guitar strums. The Heartbeat Version has a heartbeat sound effect that precedes the opening guitar, and additionally there is a chime and another low note synth over the opening guitar strums. The Heartbeat Version has additional flourishes like that throughout.
The Remix/Fade and Heartbeat Version/Faded are exactly what you'd expect them to be: slightly earlier fades of their respective mixes.

The only "Heart Of Stone" I remember my top 40 station playing is the song by Taylor Dayne (totally different song, of course). The Cher song only made it to #25 in Radio & Records, which explains why I don't have any recollection of it.
