I know this wasn't a top 40 hit but I'm wondering if anyone can help me with some info about this song. "Together in Electric Dreams" was done by Giorgio Moroder and Philip Oakley in the mid-80s. I have the CD soundtrack and a 12-inch single, and both have pretty well the same mix.

Several years ago there was a TV sports show in my area that used a 3-minute edited instrumental version of this song as their Friday closing theme. They started using it in the late '80s and dropped it in the late '90s. It had a very different mix than what I've got on my CD and 12-inch.

I tried contacting someone who used to work on that show, and they only thing I could find out is that it came from a "12-inch 'BOOGIE' mix". They took the first 2-minutes and made an edit before the vocals started to the song's instrumental end.

I've tried looking for this mix in several places in the past couple of years but have come up empty.

Since there are many people who work in radio on this board, does anyone here know anything about this mix? What it might actually be called, and where I might be able to get it? Maybe it even as a bonus track on a subsequent 12-inch single(?)

Thanks in advance for any info. I figured this kind of post was OK because we do talk a lot about different mixes in here :)

Hi

I'remember a 12" back in the 80's that had a very long extended mix of this and I recall a long intro on it.
I'm afraid i don't recall which issue, or label this 12" was on.
But I've run across a few CD's that contain different versions, I'll check into it and post again if i find something....

the reissue of the Moroder/Oakey CD has the original version, the 12" version AND the instrumental version that was the B-side to my original vinyl 12".
