Hey, Pat, I noticed there is no listing in the book for "Open Up Your Heart (And Let the Sunshine In)" by Cowboy Church Sunday School, which was top ten in both Billboard and Cash Box in April of 1955. It's not even listed in the title section in the back. It's available on at least two CDs -- the "Dirty Shame" soundtrack, and Good Music Company's "Songs of Faith and Inspiration."

Hmmm, I just looked in the Cash Box Singles Charts book 1950-1981 written by Frank Hoffmann and there is no artist listed by the Cowboy Church Sunday School. That is why there is no listing in my Top 40 Music On Compact Disc book.

Hmm, must have been omitted inadvertently. Check out Randy Price's web site, which lists every Cash Box chart week by week from 1950 till the magazine's demise. The song peaked at #7 in Cash Box on April 2, 1955. It was also top ten in Billboard, which did not combine artists as Cash Box did, that same week.

(There's a big omission in Whitburn's "Pop Memories," too -- Dennis Day's "Christmas in Killarney," which was a #10 pop hit in 1950. I seem to recall there are several Dennis Day hits missing from his section in "Pop Memories." Ah, typos.)
