I noticed a slight difference between the LP and 45 versions. About 1:05 into the song, in the line that oes..."All My Feelings Come Together..." On the 45 there is a slight pause between "Feeling" and "Come." On the LP version there is no such pause. (Yes, it's come to this). To my knowledge the only CD with the correct 45 version is the "Cherish" CD. Also, the CD speed is a bit faster than the 45. And FWIW, it sure sounds like there was some NR on the fadeout. Maybe a vinyl source?? Nahhh.

Robert.

Funny post [re: "Yes, it's come to this"].

We (speaking strictly for me) are an anal retentive bunch aren't we?

But, thank you and all the other people here for the amazing attention to detail!

I have the Japan release vinyl LP "Cherish."
This includes the version that contains the slight pause at 1:05. The LP "Cherish" is the parent album for this tune "Could It Be Forever." I wonder why the CD "Cherish" intentionally includes "45 version. "Unfortunately, I don't have the U.S. commercial 45 and the LP. So I can't check it.

Speaking of David, where is the b-side of "Cherish" the vinyl 45? I believe "All I Wanna Do Is Touch You" has yet to show up on a CD (it as a non-LP track from 1971). Has anyone found it on an import?

I'm revisiting this song, because I'm wondering if the database is correct. Abagon reported in 2011 that his Cherish LP contains the vocal take with the pause at 1:05. Currently, the database CDs that have the comment "LP version" are the ones with a different vocal take (no pause at 1:05). Is it possible that these CDs actually contain an alternate mix/take and do not actually contain the vinyl LP version?

FWIW, I compared the 45 to a fold-down of the stereo CD version from the Cherish album (Buddah 99725), and the 45 has a dedicated mono mix. The reverb on the lead vocal is slightly different, and instruments are at slightly different levels.
