My commercial 45, and both the mono/stereo sides of my promo 45, all have a listed time of (3:18), but all have an actual time of (3:24).

On the BSN forum, there's been a mention of a 2:00 edited version of this song. In searching on eBay, all I've seen are promos with a listed 3:18, exactly like Jim's promo above.

The 2:00 edit must have been custom in 1972, as I am totally unaware of any promo/stock versions with a 2:00 version.

Thoughts?

As someone on that board stated, even 2:00 of that song is too much. :-P I'm surprised anyone would do an edit, 3+ minute songs were the rule, not the exception in 1972. I can't think of any questionable content in it, the only reason I can think of is that it was a big hit & the station felt they should play it, but wanted to get it over with as quickly as possible. (?) Kind of odd logic to me, but you never know.
