My 1970 commercial 45 release, which is mono, has a listed time of (3:43), but an actual time of (3:41). I post this because the only CD in the database stating it's the "hit single version" has a running time of (3:48), :07 longer than my 45. My 45 does feature a severe, quick, pretty horrible fade, which is probably not duplicated on that database CD. Since there's probably been more Neil Diamond inquiries on this Board than for any other pre-Madonna-era artist, I decided to pass these extra details along, for those who may be interested.

Can someone give fade point times to replicate this, as Jim termed it, "severe fade" ?

John, I'll shoot you a dub of my 45, which matches Jim's (3:41) actual playing time.

After listening to the dub of John's 45, the 45 is definitely drier than the hit single mix in stereo, which has slightly more reverb. Even when you convert the stereo track to mono, it's not as dry as the 45. IMHO.
