My commercial 45, which is mono, has a listed time of (2:40), but an actual time of (2:35).

According to the database, all CD appearances of "You've Got to Crawl (Before You Walk)" run 2:46-2:50, which is significantly longer than Jim's commercial 45. That said, does anybody have 8th Day's self-titled vinyl LP from 1971 who can time "You've Got to Crawl" to see if it's run time corresponds with the CD times in the database?

The Invictus compilation LP "Invictus' Greatest Hits" shows a 2:55 time for You've Got to Crawl and that's exactly how long it is. Shocking! :)

I just timed this song taken from the original vinyl LP simply titled "8th Day" and it runs (2:55) exactly as stated on the record label. Unfortunately I do not have the vinyl 45 to determine whether the (2:55) appearance is a "version" or "length" issue.

As Jim has pointed out, we never got to the bottom of this "You've Got To Walk" matter so here is the answer:
1) the 45 runs (2:35) and has a different introduction from the LP version
2) the LP version runs (2:55)

Rhino 70786 Soul Hits Of The '70s Vol. 6 has the correct 45 version but it runs :10 longer. All other cd listings in the database feature the LP version but they are all :05 shorter than the vinyl LP

The CD version I have of his song is listed at 2:40 and an actual run time of 2:37. The track is in mono.

And, here I thought for the last 36 years that 8th Day was only a one hit wonder with "She's Not Just Another Woman."

Learn something new every day!

Yeah Tom's right Deep Beat Records DEEPM 20B.

I found it in the cut out bin at a local CD store. I think I paid $1 for it. Quite a bargain considering it's an import.

Unfortunately, Pat doesn't list imports. There would be just too many cds to check that way I would think....

Oh OK. I didn't know that. I grew up in England and half spent half my life in the US so I kinda collect both UK & US Top 40 hits. Fortunately there's quite a lot of crossover.
