My commercial 45, which is mono, has a listed time of (4:25), but an actual time of (4:19).

I have just spotted and purchased a "Edited Stereo Version" promo 45 for
this song. Only one side of the 45 was scanned for the listing, but it states
that the B-side of the stock 45 (Windy City Soul) is on this promo 45 copy's
flip. The listed time here is (2:50), much shorter than the stock 45's 4:00+
listed/actual times, which I included in this thread's opening post.

I will provide full particulars when it arrives.

A version running about (2:50) is on the Collectables 45.

Paul C, I have located a Collectables 45 for it on-line. Is the one you are
referring to on Collectables 4223, with Butler's "What's The Use In Breaking
Up" on the flip? With the light pink label, and says "Manufactured By
Polygram Special Products" on the bottom? I only ask because, 1) this reprint
45 has no listed times, and 2) Collectables has been making reprint 45s
forever, and I want to make sure I buy the one you own. I don't want/need
another (4:00)+ 45 version. Thanks!

I have received my afore-mentioned "Edited Stereo Version" promo 45.
Confirmed as Mercury 73255, it has both a listed and actual time of (2:50),
although the ending is truncated for it before the fade is 100% completed.
Deadwax info is "2-49344-1-1-1", with the last four characters appearing
only very lightly.

To me, there is a clear edit at around the (2:10) mark, when the final 40
seconds of the stock 45 appear to my ears to be spliced on. That will give
you a general idea what's as to been removed, vs the stock 45. But,
possessing no editor skills myself, I will be forwarding this version to
Aaron, for a more exact analysis, as his busy schedule permits.

Yes, that's the one. The version on Collectables 4223 is stereo and runs (2:50). So they apparently used the stereo promo version in error.

Thanks for your kind reply, Paul C. I will now pull it out of my eBay "save for
later" and order it!

As an update, the stereo promo "Edited Version" removes 0:56 to 2:24 of the full length stereo version.

The mono version on the stock 45 is a fold-down of the stereo version.
