Pat's current database notation for this song is perfect. I just want to provide the deadwax details for both commercial 45's actual timings, in case anyone wants to try and track down either of the 45 versions. The first one I bought, on October 16, 1975 (I wrote the date on the sleeve) is polystyrene, is the listed (3:06), actual (2:55) version, and has deadwax of "T.K 1015-A-1". Later in its chart run, I saw a local store selling a vinyl copy of the 45, and I bought one of those as well. This features the listed (3:06), actual (3:02) version, and has deadwax of "TK.1015-A". FYI, all of the current "45 length" database CDs appear to feature the (3:02) 45 version.

Excellent! My copy, which was a styrene 45, was purchased around November 16, 1975 at Sears. :-) It ran 2:55 and the label listed 3:06. If I want the length I grew up with, I just have to fade it accordingly when making my personal CD-R.

I have finally tracked down a promo 45 for this song, Confirmed as T,K.
1015, both sides of it are identical in every way. It is stereo, although this
fact is not noted on the label. Listed time (3:06); actual time (2:56). It
includes handwritten deadwax info of "T.K.1015A", followed by "9-19-75".

Jimct, I have all of KC's promos except "Please Don't Go" and every
one of them are double A side stereo (except my I'm Your Boogie Man)
that has a different B side track "Wrap Your Arms Around Me).
Did TK ever issue stereo/mono sided promos for the KC and The
Sunshine Band?
I didn't spin my copy since you already handled it and my runout
matches yours but there is some additional runout info that looks like a
triangle over a "V" followed by 7-1212.
