My commercial 45 has a listed time of (2:58), but an actual time of (3:01).

I was listening today to a playback of a Dec. '74 AT40 where this song
ends cold. May have even been a different recording even though I
also heard Odia on this version with Paul. Very odd.

To Santi:

The version you heard was the original 'Anka' vinyl LP version produced by Rick Hall. Rick apparently thought the composition was strong enough to be a follow-up hit to "(You're) Having My Baby" if Odia Coates were to be featured in it more prominently. Rather than remix it, he as executive producer commissioned Denny Diante & Spencer Proffer (yes, the Quiet Riot producer) to produce the single version.

AT-40 sometimes dubbed from albums for better sound quality, not realizing this wasn't the hit take.

Thanks Andy for this info. Looks like the LP version has never been on
a domestic CD then.

Are you saying that even the Collectables CD of "Anka" and "Feelings" (the 2 albums on one CD) does not contain the album version of "One Man Woman"?

And, if so, does this mean that the album was later issued with the single mix of "One Man Woman" in place of the album mix (much like what was done with Whitney's "Greatest Love of All")?

Perhaps Pat can listen to all of the entries in the database and answer
the question posed by Gordon. All I see currently is a note on one entry
that is a re-record. All others don't say 45 or LP version. So my
assumption is they are all the same. But of course I could be wrong
(been wrong before).

Original vinyl LP take is labeled 3:45. I haven't timed it; it is longer though.

I have that two-fer and just listened to "One Man Woman"
on it and can confirm it's the hit version running about
3:02. I've been trying to track down the original album
version for years myself.

Does anyone have a link to a video with the LP version? I have the LP somewhere.

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think it's on YouTube.
I've been looking for it for several years now.
