Just a question for all of you. In the database, there doesn't seem to be any difference mentioned, but which was the actual 'hit' version of this song? I've seen it on Columbia compilations and Mercury Compilations. And, the Mercury compilation versions sounds different, as in re-recorded for that label.

Thoughts?

The hit single was on Columbia. The Mercury version is a re-recording.

There are 4 Mercury cd's that contain this song -- the first two are rerecordings as stated in the database and the last two are the original hit version. The liner notes for "The Definitve Collection" and "Gold" both credit Sony BMG for the permission to use the original hit version of this song.

Pat: Thanks for the clarification.
