My promo CD single (PR 2689-2) has the following:

1-(7" House Edit) (listed & actual 3:54)
2-(7" Alternative Latin Edit) (listed 3:53; actual 3:52)
3-(LP Version) (listed & actual 4:55)

Both sides of my promo 45 have the LP Version on it, however, and that was the version we played back in 1989.

Jim states above that his station played the 4:55 LP version, and most likely other stations did the same. Does anyone recall hearing (or playing) a shorter edit? TM Century issued a version on HitDisc labled "Edit," which runs about 4:00. This same version was serviced on GoldDisc 168. My guess is that it is an in-house edit to provide their stations with a shorter option, similar to what they did the year prior with "Red Red Wine."

There was a (listed) 3:37 "Special DJ Edit" on the UK promo 45 (cat. A8919A).

Not sure if it's the same edit.

My promo agrees with Jim's, and is also what I recall
playing in the late spring of '89.

I don't have GoldDisc 168, but I do have the song on
HitDisc 783A (dated April 7, 1989) which contains a 3:49
version marked "edit". It is not an edit of the album
version, but a remix, possibly an edit of the 12"?

Hykker, that would make sense. I'll try to retrieve my GoldDisc copy shortly to see which mix is included. It's possible they serviced the 7" House Edit from the promo CD.
