I only have a promo 45 for this. Both sides of it state (Edited Version) right after the title, and have both a listed and actual time of (3:20). This is also the exact listed time that appears for it in my brand new Whitburn Pop Annual; perhaps someone who owns a stock 45 can confirm that book's findings. If true, it would appear as if a version designation will need to be added to the database, since the time of the only CD it appears on is (4:03).
I also have a promo CD single for this (CSK 1616), and here are those details:
1-7" Edited Version (this track has a listed time of 4:03 on the CD ITSELF, but the listed time on the jewel box insert IS correctly stated as 3:20, its actual time.)
2-12" Version (the title of this track on the CD itself is "12" Club Version") (listed 4:24; actual 4:23)
3-Club Mix (listed & actual 4:18)
4-Pic's Mix (listed 4:05; actual 4:06)

I'm bumping this thread back up to the front of the line because crapfromthepast's commercial 45 info regarding Eddie Murphy's "Put Your Mouth on Me" hasn't been updated in the database. Abagon also confirms that his commercial 45 copy has an actual and printed run time of 3:20 and states "Edited Version" on the record label.

For those looking to make the "Edited Version" from the album version.
The single is pitched up about 1.6%.
Remove from 2:28.9 to 2:47.7. You'll cut out "Girl you taught me..." and go right to "Woman I'm not..." Edit right on the first words of the lines.
Then remove 2:54.5 to 3:13.4. (2:35.3 - 2:54.2) This edit takes place on a synth/horn stab, right after the bass drum kick. You'll cut out some sort of scat and go right to him exclaiming, "ooh...yeah...ow" after the harmonized "...mouth on me" and the bass drum.
