Question, if anyone knows...can the 45 version be recreated from the LP version? If so, edit points, if any?

Yes, the 45 is an edit of the LP version. Unfortunately, I no longer have my edit notes for that one. PM me if you want further info.

In reference to the 45 version, the first edit is at 1:06, where the instrumental section is cut in half. The second edit is at 2:54 on the 45 version, where the repeated instrumental section is edited out, jumping right to where the "oooh" part starts. The 45 starts fading at the "oooh" at 3:04 and is done by 3:19.

Thank you, gentlemen! Very easy edits!

There has to be more to the 45 edit because if I attempt that second edit, the vocal that leads into the instrumental part can't logically jump to the "oooh" part before the fade.

You might be trying to edit in the wrong spot. There's no vocal at the point of edit.

It should sound something like this:

"nobody living insi-i-ide" (starting around (2:38))
instrumental overlaps vocal until (2:45)
instrumental only from (2:45) to (2:54)
edits to "oooh" at (2:54) (just after drums kick in)

Yes, Doug is correct. When I posted the edit points, I only posted the places that the edits occur on the 45. The times are not in reference to the LP version at all.

I see. What I did was use the LP version as a working file to create the 45 edit. Actually, I did tend to try sort of what Doug described, and it worked better.

Doug's extra description helps much more.

Happy to help, Grant. Ed gets an assist, though--he provided me with the 45 dub to use as my base.

I got the 45 and I actually got it right.

I don't know how many of you read music, but it may help if, when giving instructions, to include measures or bars in your instructions. This may help as much as giving clock times for edit points.
